Senior Product Designer
Our product design team needs a senior designer to work on Brivo’s web-based digital products. We’re hoping it’s you!
As a senior product designer, you know how to get things done. That’s why in this job:
- You’ll be responsible for all steps of the design process: research, discovery, prototyping, testing, and handoff.
- Your voice will be heard. Brivo values your role, so we expect you to have strong opinions, solid approaches, and a passion for details.
- You’ll be connecting the dots across our platform, creating a simpler, unified experience.
You’ll be expected to:
- Partner with product management and engineering to identify user needs, prioritize work, then set and achieve goals
- Work autonomously, leveraging our design system, while establishing new design standards and guiding other designers on best practices.
- Excel at making simple yet scalable solutions to complex B2B interactions. We expect our B2B applications to be just as easy to use as any B2C product.
- Collaboratively ideate, iterate, and validate designs, conducting workshops, user research and user testing.
- Hand off to engineers smoothly and efficiently, ensuring the details are just right.
- Travel on occasion. This position can be local, hybrid, or remote, but does require periodic visits to the Maryland office (4-5 times a year).
About the Team
We're a team of designers determined to make it dead simple to live in, work in, and manage smart spaces. If the number of times we ask "why" is any indicator, we're on the right path.
We're spread across the US and working in multiple time zones, but we're united. For each project we lead, we play off each other and involve users at every step, then we measure our success. We're serious about learning, so whether we did great or fell short, we see the positive.
At the end of the day, we're a nice group of folks that started off in law, cosmetology, and professional clowning. Together, we're making the world a little safer.
About You
While we’d love for you to come with a deep knowledge of access control, physical security, and smart home products, it’s not required. Here’s what we do require:
- 5+ years of experience designing enterprise applications
- A portfolio that shows off your product design and leadership skills (We want to see you strut your stuff, so you must submit a portfolio to be considered)
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4-8 years of work experience
- Deep understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Mastery of design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
